Integrating Tieline with WheatNet-IP
The Wheatstone Corporation uses the WheatNet-IP protocol to transport and manage IP streams across broadcast plants. By equipping a Tieline Gateway or Gateway 4 with an optional WheatNet-IP audio card, you can interface seamlessly with these systems.
To ensure full support for routing sources and destinations, Tieline recommends selecting this card at the time of purchase.

Automatic Recognition: Once you install the WheatNet-IP card, Wheatstone’s Navigator software automatically recognizes the codec as a Blade within the WheatNet-IP environment.

No Manual Configuration: Unlike the Genie Distribution or Merlin PLUS—which require the Wheatstone Razor setup tool—Gateway codecs are ready to go immediately upon installation.

Streamlined Management: WheatNet-IP Navigator software manages all audio stream routing directly, streamlining AoIP workflows across your entire broadcast facility.
Tieline codecs with the optional WheatNet-IP card can also leverage proprietary WheatNet-IP discovery and control mechanisms. For instance, these codecs support WheatNet-IP logic I/Os. The WheatNet-IP discovery protocol operates over a dedicated system-wide IP multicast “announce channel.” Subscribe devices to this multicast group to enable real-time, network-wide announcements.
