Seamless WheatNet-IP Network Integration
The Wheatstone DMX-8 console integrates seamlessly into the WheatNet-IP Intelligent Network. By joining this ecosystem, the console provides immediate access to BLADEs, software, processing, and a wide range of partner equipment across your facility.
Consequently, you can easily add the DMX to an existing AoIP network or use it as the foundation for a brand-new setup. For those seeking expanded capabilities, this system gives you full access to the entire WheatNet-IP environment, offering unparalleled routing flexibility.
Built-In 5-Port Switch for Cost-Effective Scaling
One of the standout features of the DMX-8 is its built-in 5-port switch. This internal switch enables the creation of a smaller local network without the need for an external hardware switch.
This functionality offers exceptional speed and flexibility, making it ideal for smaller setups where you need to add I/O and extra control surfaces over time. Furthermore, it is perfect for two- or three-studio facilities. In this setup, each studio operates independently as a standalone unit while remaining completely connected via an IP network.
The console provides reliable 1Gb connectivity through its internal switch. This speed ensures the efficient routing of sources and destinations between studios. Additionally, it integrates easily into most existing radio automation systems.
Standalone Performance and Configuration Options
The DMX-8 control surface is a fully integrated, standalone console designed for both on-air and production use. To fit your studio’s footprint, the system is available in three distinct configurations:
-
DMX-8 (8-fader configuration)
- DMX-12 (12-fader configuration)
-
DMX-16 (16-fader configuration)
All models feature four program buses, a dedicated bus-minus on every fader, and multi-function knobs to quickly adjust pan, mode, dynamics, and input sources.
Moreover, the console includes talkback and cue functions alongside comprehensive EQ and dynamics control. Finally, operators can take advantage of dedicated monitoring for the control room, studio, and headphones, backed by crisp LED metering, a built-in timer, and four-event recall.
