The WS-6.2 is a compact studio subwoofer featuring two 6.5-inch horizontally opposed woofers. It occupies less than half the space of comparable subwoofers, making it an excellent choice for stereo setups where space is limited. The WS-6.2 is equipped with balanced inputs for both XLR and TRS cables, along with unbalanced RCA inputs for versatile connectivity.
You can utilize the 80 Hz crossover when using the subwoofer to extend the low-end response of your monitors, or switch to LFE mode for feeding the sub a dedicated LFE channel. If you prefer greater control, you can disable the crossover and use an external one for more precise customization. The 80 Hz crossover is optimized for use with Kali’s studio monitors, though it will also work well with monitors from most major brands.
When the 80 Hz crossover is active, a high-passed signal is sent out through the XLR outputs. Additionally, the WS-6.2 features a footswitch jack, allowing you to turn off the subwoofer, and the XLR outputs will send a full-range signal to your studio monitors. Footswitches are sold separately and can be found at most music retailers. If you need assistance with selecting a compatible footswitch, Kali Audio’s customer service team is available to help.
Designed to complement Kali’s LP-Series and IN-Series monitors, the WS-6.2 also integrates seamlessly with nearly any pair of studio monitors. With a footprint slightly larger than an 8-inch monitor, it’s an ideal solution for under-desk placement or other tight spaces. Despite its smaller size, the horizontally opposed woofers in the WS-6.2 provide the same radiating surface area as a 10-inch woofer.
The woofers’ configuration also eliminates net vibrations, ensuring the subwoofer remains stable, without any unwanted buzzing or rattling, even at high SPLs.
With a maximum SPL of 120 dB, the WS-6.2 offers plenty of power for most stereo systems and works well in smaller multichannel setups. For those needing more SPL, a second WS-6.2 can be added without significantly increasing the space required. Alternatively, you can opt for Kali’s larger WS-12 subwoofer for even more power.
